MORENO VALLEY (CNS) - A shooting in Moreno Valley today left two women wounded, one fatally, and the suspect was taken into custody, authorities said.
The shooting was reported about 4:10 a.m. in the 16100 block of Cosmos Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The victims were transported for hospital treatment, and woman one died at a hospital. Information on her identity was not immediately available.
The other woman was treated for injuries described as "non-life threatening,'' the sheriff's department reported.
"The suspect in this incident has been taken into custody by deputies,'' a sheriff's statement said. "Our homicide Unit has assumed the investigation.''
