Oil spill caused by crash shuts down Scott Road in Menifee
A portion of Scott Road was shut down in Menifee Tuesday afternoon after a crash caused oil to spill onto the roadway, sheriff's deputies said.The crash was reported a little after 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Scott and Haun roads.No one was injured in the crash, but deputies arrived and found "a large amount of oil" spilling onto the road, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.Eastbound Scott Road was expected to be closed between Haun and Murrieta roads "for the next several hours," deputies said around 4:30 p.m.The sheriff's department did not say how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
