LAKE ELSINORE — A fatal accident between a motorcyclist and a vehicle at 12:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30 on State Route 74, also known as the Ortega Highway, occurred near 2 miles west of Grand Avenue in Lake Elsinore.According to California Highway Patrol Temecula Area officer Mike Lassig, a 66-year-old Lake Elsinore man was making a left turn into the driveway of his residence headed westbound on Route 74 when the collision occurred.Lassig said a 37-year-old man from Lake Elsinore was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed on a sport motorcycle and coming out of a sharp corner when he collided head-on with the vehicle.He was pronounced dead at the scene.
