TEMECULA (CNS) - Two Girl Scouts from Temecula and Placentia have won a national award, a first for the Orange County chapter in the same year, a spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
Megan Loh of Placentia and Isabella Madrigal of Temecula are among 10 Girl Scouts from across the country selected to receive the National Gold Award, said Elizabeth Fairchild of Girl Scouts of Orange County.
The award is given to high school-aged scouts who demonstrate leadership in developing solutions to local, national or global issues.
Isabella, a member of the Cahuilla tribe, likes to act and tell stories. When she had trouble finding acting gigs that mirrored her own experiences, she wrote, directed and performed a play about indigenous women who have gone missing or were killed.
