HS Girls’ Golf: Great Oak holds inaugural R. Murphy Classic golf tournament

It was the first ever tournament the ladies of Great Oak High School hosted Saturday, Sept. 30. Held at Temecula Creek Inn, and consisting of both 18-hole courses, nine schools joined in on the inaugural R. Murphy Classic, also dubbed “The Murph.”Temecula Valley, Murrieta Mesa, Glendora, Elsinore, Sage Creek, Temescal Canyon, La Habra and Villa Park high schools all joined Great Oak for a beautiful day of ladies’ golf. Great Oak, Temescal Canyon and Temecula Valley fielded two teams for the event to give their girls the extra reps.At the end of the day, it would be the host school that came out on top, with Temecula Valley following suite and Villa Park picking up third place. Individual honors went out to Jordan and Katelyn Parr of Temecula Valley, as well as Kristian Wilmes
