Gourmet Italia in Temecula is inviting the public to celebrate its 20th anniversary this Wednesday.The restaurant, owned by Alex and Charity Prestifilippo, opened in Temecula’s Tower Plaza in 1999 and has remained there ever since.The celebration at the restaurant will begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Guests can enjoy live music and order off the restaurant’s original menu, which Gourmet Italia Business Manager Angela Souther described as having more “simplified” offerings -- and at 1999 prices.“The whole idea of when Alex came here from Sicily is bringing authentic Sicilian food to Southern California,” Souther said. “It’s a more limited menu and we of course will be honoring the original prices as well.
