Small fire breaks out in Santa Ana River bottom amid red flag warning
RIVERSIDE (CNS) - A wind-whipped fire that broke out today in the Santa Ana River bottom in Riverside blackened about a quarter-acre before it was stopped.The non-injury blaze was reported at 12:07 p.m. near the Mission Inn Avenue bridge, according to the Riverside Fire Department.Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a moderate rate through thick brush, according to reports from the scene.Winds were blowing at 20 mph and gusting to 30 at the time.
