Small brush fire breaks out near Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY (CNS) - A brush fire that erupted today north of Moreno Valley, near the San Bernardino County line, blackened five acres before crews got it partially contained. The non-injury blaze was reported at 5 p.m. in the area of Live Oak Canyon and San Timoteo Canyon roads, within a mile of the border with Redlands, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Crews from the county, the Redlands Fire Department and Cal Fire San Bernardino were sent to the location and encountered flames burning through heavy brush, threatening a home. At 5:40 p.m., the fire's rate of progress was stopped, and full containment was anticipated by 7 p.m., according to reports from the scene. There was no immediate word on what triggered the blaze.
