Corona man killed in Watts shooting ID’d

CORONA (CNS) - Authorities on Wednesday identified a Riverside County motorist who was killed in a possible gang-related shooting in Watts.Lavon Wright Jr. of Corona, 43, was shot about 1 p.m. Tuesday near 103rd Street and Compton Avenue and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office and the Los Angeles Police Department.According to broadcast reports, the victim was in an SUV stopped at a red light when he was shot by someone who fled in a vehicle. The SUV reportedly had a Lyft sticker and was occupied by Wright and another person.Anyone with information on the case was urged to call 877-LAPD-247.
