Reports: Well-known West Coast rapper died while in custody in Murrieta

MURRIETA — A well-known rapper who collaborated with some of the West Coast's biggest hip-hop artists during the 1990s died while in the custody of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department on Monday at the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta."On Monday, November 11, 2019, at 5:01 AM, correctional staff from the Cois Byrd Detention Center were conducting a security check when they located a male inmate inside a cell by himself in need of medical attention," said Deputy Robyn Flores, Public Information Officer. "Deputies immediately summoned medical staff and life-saving measures were performed on (Jamarr) Stamps. Fire personnel arrived shortly after and continued life-saving measures.
