Former Vista Murrieta girls basketball star Brown named ESPNW Player of the Week

Jeff Pack Staff Writer University of California Berkely senior guard/forward Jaelyn Brown was named ESPNW’s Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 25.  The former Vista Murrieta High School standout has continued to improve her numbers year after year, despite coaching changes over the last four seasons.  The 6-foot-1 Brown scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (also a career high) when the Bears beat No. 20 Arkansas at home on Sunday, Nov. 24. She shot better than 50% from the field, which included making 4 of 5 attempts from behind the arc.  Brown joined only three other Cal players to score at least 30 points and grab 12 rebounds in a game.  She also racked up 18 points and 9 rebounds in a win over the San Diego State Aztecs.
