San Jacinto Unified superintendent resigns, citing family commitments
The San Jacinto Unified School District Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of the district’s superintendent during a special closed session meeting this week.At a meeting held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, the board voted 5-0 to ratify Superintendent Diane Perez’s resignation, retroactive to Nov. 30.Perez has served the district in various capacities for the last 15 years, including as an elementary school child welfare and attendance coordinator, director of school and community support, assistant superintendent and deputy superintendent, according to an email statement from San Jacinto Unified spokeswoman Dawn Lawrence. Perez became superintendent in 2013.“As many know, (Perez) started her doctorate about the same time her youngest daughter started adolescence,” Lawr
