Caltrans updates progress on the SR 74 raised curb median safety strip from Valle Vista to the I-215

The recent wet weather has once again delayed progress on Caltrans’ State Route 74 Raised Curb Median safety strip from the Ramona Expressway to the Interstate 215, but contractors will once again to be back on the job when the rain stops.In recent weeks on the Valle Vista and Hemet portion of the project from the Ramona Expressway/Mountain Avenue in Val Vista and west on Florida Avenue through Hemet to West Acacia Avenue, motorists have seen one lane closures on either the eastbound or westbound lanes. The lane closures made by the contractor Autobahn Construction were necessary as concrete was being poured for the curb portion of the median.Most of the curbing work from the expressway to the intersection of Santa Fe Street has been finished, according to Caltrans officials.
