Supervisors approve funding agreement with Pechanga for Pala Road traffic signal
The Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians is constructing a private driveway which will intersect with Pala Road between Lira Road and Rainbow Oaks Road, and the construction will include a traffic signal along with flashing advanced warning beacons along Pala Road. Although the tribe is funding the traffic signal, Pechanga and Riverside County will share ownership of intersection improvements and the county’s Transportation Department will provide maintenance services for the intersection after its completion.The annual cost of maintenance for the intersection is estimated at $5,000, and the Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved a funding agreement, Dec. 10, in which the county and the tribe will each be responsible for half of the cost.The county’s $2,500 share of the an
