Chaparral High School plays host to Southwestern League individual wrestling finals

The Southwestern League wrestling finals took place at Chaparral High School Monday, Feb. 10, where it was an all-out war for the chance to move on to the CIF Southern Section individual tournament, which leads to the Masters Meet later this month. Just a week before the local schools from all over southwest Riverside County all battled it out in the CIF Dual Championships, and in Division 1, it would be Murrieta Valley High School making it the second round before losing to Servite High School (51-21). In Division 2, Temescal Canyon High School also made it to the second round where they fell to Paramount High School (45-33), but the bigger news was Paloma Valley High School advancing all the way to the finals where they lost to Palm Desert High School 40-36.
