New musician rocks Anza

Rock ‘n’ roll veteran David Romero now calls Anza “home,” and he brings with him a slew of talented musicians for practice sessions at his hillside residence. His band, Moon Shot, is poised for a great 2020 gig season. A multitalented musician, Romero plays a variety of instruments, but his claim to fame is the bass guitar. He is also a vocalist with the band. “I started learning to play at around 15 after I saw the Beatles on TV,” he said. “We loved the sound of the harmonies and the music, so shortly after that, my brothers Don, Bob, Gilbert and I started singing and trying to buy a guitar.” Romero’s musical influences were Paul McCartney, Tim Bogert, James Jamerson and John Entwhistle.
