Man suspected in shooting death arrested
PERRIS (CNS) - A 28-year-old man suspected of shooting another man to death in Perris was behind bars today without bail.
Deputies received a call just before 8 a.m. Saturday that a shooting had occurred in the 100 block of Commerce Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
There, deputies found Edward Pirtle, 24, of Moreno Valley suffering from a gunshot wound, said Sgt. Richard Carroll. Pirtle was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that Juan Alberto Bucaro of Perris was the suspected gunman and, according to jail records, he was arrested at 5:30 p.m.
Bucaro was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
There was no word on the motive for the homicide, but authorities said it was not gang-related.
