Electrical vault blows, knocking out power to Edison customers in Temecula

TEMECULA (CNS) - An underground electrical vault in Temecula failed today, causing a small electrical fire and knocking out power to more than 2,000 Southern California Edison customers.The non-injury fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m. on Margarita Road, near Rustic Glen Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered smoke rising from the transformer, but the flames had already died down, officials said.As a precaution, sheriff's deputies closed the immediate area to traffic.Firefighters secured the vault at about 1:30 p.m., and SCE technicians were summoned to make repairs in order to restore electrical service to about 2,300 customers along Margarita and Winchester roads, according to r
