RIVERSIDE (CNS) – Temperatures will remain mild today in the Inland Empire, but the mercury is expected to rise quickly starting on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The remnants of a low pressure system that brought cloudy conditions will continue to clear today, with temperatures expected to remain around seasonal averages throughout Riverside County, forecasters said.
This weather pattern won’t last long though because a patch of high pressure is expected to move into the region on Wednesday, sending high temperatures soaring to the mid- to high-80s in the Riverside metropolitan area.
Highs in the Coachella Valley are forecast to reach the mid-90s on Wednesday and could get into the triple digits on Thursday, according to the NWS.
The Coachella Valley, the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning and the Riverside County mountains are also expected to get some strong winds out of the west today, with wind speeds forecast between 15-20 mph and gusts potentially reaching 35 mph this morning.
High temperatures today could reach 74 degrees in Riverside, 81 in the San Gorgonio Pass, 88 in the Coachella Valley, 57 in Idyllwild, 65 in Temecula and 71 in Hemet.
Warm conditions are expected to remain through at least early next week.
