MORENO VALLEY (CNS) - A 30-year-old man who allegedly threatened to blow up a Moreno Valley bank during a robbery attempt remained jailed today in lieu of $30,000, sheriff's officials said.
The robbery occurred at about 10:30 a.m. Friday at a U.S. Bank in the 25900 block of Iris Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's officials said Anthony Fucher of Moreno Valley walked into the bank wearing dark sunglasses and a bandanna across his face and allegedly passed a note to a bank teller that said he would "blow up'' the bank if he didn't receive a large sum of money.
However, after the bank manager intervened, Fucher left the bank in a silver sedan, according to Sgt. Jose Ayala.
Investigators later tracked down Fucher and he was arrested that night
