MURRIETA (CNS) - A suspected drunk driver accused of causing a rear-end crash that killed a 43-year-old woman in the unincorporated community of Dutch Village remained jailed today in lieu of $1 million bail. The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. Friday when a 2020 Kia Optima heading south on Winchester Road toward Thompson Road at a high speed smashed into the back of a 2017 Ford Fusion stopped at the red light, according to the California Highway Patrol. The force of the impact pushed the Ford into the intersection where it crashed with a 2016 Toyota Corolla, the CHP said. Authorities said the driver of the Kia, 34-year-old Joshua Morris of Temecula, failed to apply the brakes as he approached the Ford from behind.
