Marc Rubenstein, Special to Valley NewsIn these unpleasant times, people might be looking for a special thing, or a miracle could just happen. The miracle might be in ourselves. When my son Jeff was 10, he wrote a poem. When he showed it to his mother, he said to her, “Don’t show it to Daddy because he’ll want to read it to the congregation.”He was right. I did want to share it, but he asked me not to. It took me over a year of wrangling to cut a deal with him to do so.He wrote the poem as a song for some friends who were thinking of starting a band. It’s called “The Power in Me.”“When morning comes and the sun rises in the east, I think of the power in me.“When I stand up for what is right and what I believe, It is because of the power in me.
