Graduating seniors at Chaparral High School have planned a private prom, since the Temecula Valley Unified School District canceled all school events due state and county orders concerning the coronavirus pandemic. The senior “Sail Away” prom will take place Friday, Aug. 7, at 7:30 p.m. aboard the Hornblower yacht in San Diego.Temecula Valley Union School District began distance learning April 6 due to the coronavirus pandemic. As teachers and students navigated a new way of learning toward the end of the school year, they realized that many important events would have to be put on hold, including graduation, yearbook signing, senior movie night and senior sunset and prom. Chaparral High School held a virtual graduation ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of Chaparral seniors
