LAKE ELSINORE (CNS) - A brush fire that erupted Friday, June 12 on the west end of Lake Elsinore burned under an acre and threatened a home before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 1:20 p.m. in the area of Kings Highway and Terra Cotta Road, just west of Interstate 15, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a moderate rate through vegetation surrounding a residence.
Crews quickly established containment lines and prevented the flames from reaching the property.
The fire's forward rate of spread was halted shortly before 2 p.m., and the brusher was fully contained a few minutes later. Crews were expected to remain at the scene, mopping up, until 4 p.m.
