Brush fire burns field on border of Perris, Romoland and Sun City

PERRIS (CNS) - A fire that erupted Thursday in a riparian area on the south edge of Perris scorched roughly four acres before crews got it partially contained. The non-injury blaze broke out for unknown reasons about 4:20 p.m. along Goetz Road, just north of Ethanac Road, close to the city limits of Menifee, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Crews encountered flames burning at a moderate rate in thick, overgrown vegetation surrounding a natural waterway. They expected to have the blaze fully contained by 7 p.m.
