The city of Canyon Lake renewed contracts with the Riverside County Fire Department for fire protection, fire prevention, rescue and emergency medical services. The Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved the cooperative agreement for fiscal year 2020-2021 during its June 23 meeting.The supervisors’ 5-0 vote retains the level of staffing of the 2019-2020 agreement, although due to increased county fire department costs the city's estimated payment amount will increase by 2.53%. The true quarterly payments will be based on actual costs, although the estimate for July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, is $2,224,207.
