2021 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival canceled

INDIO (CNS) - The 2021 Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival has been canceled, county officials said Friday. The fair, originally set for Feb. 12-21 at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio, was canceled due to logistical concerns related to the fairgrounds being used as a coronavirus testing center, and the site of a federal medical station. The fair is expected to return in 2022, which will be its 75th anniversary. ``It was a difficult decision to cancel, but with the uncertainty of how long the fairgrounds will be used as a testing center and backup hospital, it was one that had to be made.
