Menifee Police: Resident killed in traffic collision

Menifee — At about 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, a Menifee Police Officer observed a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Rockport Road and Laguna Vista Drive. The officer notified dispatch and immediately began assessing the pedestrian’s injuries, relaying them to dispatch and obtaining a proper medical response.The initial investigation has determined a vehicle had stopped at the stop sign of westbound Rockport Road and Laguna Vista Drive Upon traveling west through the intersection to the opposing side, the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was traveling north in the crosswalk, causing the pedestrian to be knocked to the ground and sustained severe head trauma.The pedestrian was identified as a 75-year-old resident of Menifee and transported to Inl
