RIVERSIDE (CNS) - Triple-digit temperatures are expected again Thursday in the Riverside metropolitan area as a stretch of scorching heat looms on the horizon for Riverside County. A ridge of high pressure will continue building over the southwestern United States through Monday, ushering in the scorching heat, according to the National Weather Service. Moisture from Elida -- which has weakened to a tropical depression and is currently centered roughly 700 miles south of San Diego -- will create a chance of thunderstorms Sunday and Monday afternoon in the Riverside county mountains, forecasters said.
