Komen Inland Empire celebration to discuss African American breast cancer disparities

A physician, educator, author and a science adviser will lead a virtual celebration of cancer survivorship and hope in the morning Thursday, Aug. 27, regarding breast disparities among African American women.The virtual celebration, which begins at 9 a.m. on Facebook and Instagram at Susan G. Komen Inland Empire @SKGIE or #CircleofPromise2020, will feature Dr. Lisa Newman, a Komen Scholar who will discuss the science behind what makes African American women’s breast cancer different from other women.Also on the panel is Sandra Finestone, Ph.D., Komen Inland Empire past board president and Komen Advocate in Science; Kara Adams, author of “Hidden Treasure: 5 Steps to Transformational Self-Love” and Margaret Hill, Ph.D., trustee with the San Bernardino City Unified School Distri
