Komen Inland Empire celebration to discuss African American breast cancer disparities

A physician, educator, author and a science adviser will lead a virtual celebration of cancer survivorship and hope in the morning Thursday, Aug. 27, regarding breast disparities among African American women. The virtual celebration, which begins at 9 a.m. on Facebook and Instagram at Susan G. Komen Inland Empire @SKGIE or #CircleofPromise2020, will feature Dr. Lisa Newman, a Komen Scholar who will discuss the science behind what makes African American women’s breast cancer different from other women.
