TEMECULA – Mark Katan, candidate for governing board member at the Temecula Valley Unified School District, said he is passionate about education and that is what led him to make the decision to run for a seat on the board.Katan said he has spent the last 30 years in Temecula participating with TVUSD in as many ways as he could to be involved in the education process.“When I was the manager of Target, we sponsored Temecula Elementary School, attending monthly assemblies, passing out awards, judging Reflections, cooking spaghetti dinners for families and being Principal of the Day each year,” Katan said. “I was then asked to be a TVUSD “Partner in Education,” where I visited school sites to meet with staff, attend student performances, observe in classrooms, attend diver
