Man struck, killed crossing highway in Homeland

HOMELAND (CNS) - A 35-year-old man was struck and killed Friday, Oct. 16 when he attempted to cross an unlit segment of Highway 74 in Homeland. The fatality happened just after midnight this morning on the four-lane corridor, just east of Sultanas Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officer Mike Lassig said that the victim, identified only as a Hemet resident, was nowhere near a marked crosswalk when he started across the highway.
