Elsinore motorist suspected of running over, killing man in hit-and-run

LAKE ELSINORE (CNS) - A 65-year-old man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Lake Elsinore Tuesday, Oct. 20, and the suspect was subsequently apprehended by California Highway Patrol officers. The victim, a Lake Elsinore resident whose name was withheld pending notification of his family, was hit about 12:15 a.m. on Grand Avenue, just south of Turner Street, and died at the scene, according to the CHP. Officer Mike Lassig alleged that 66-year-old Arturo Swadener of Lake Elsinore was at the wheel of the 2004 Nissan Titan pickup that ran into the pedestrian, who was on the northbound side of the four-lane corridor when he was struck.
