Critical race theory recognizes that racism is engrained in the fabric of American society, and that existing power structures are built on White supremacy. This country was physically and metaphorically built on slavery, and there are clear remnants of that system today, including the criminal justice system.The article said that “it was unconscionable for slavery to continue” after the Revolutionary War.
