Wildomar, Lake Elsinore receive traffic safety grantsĀ 

Jeff Pack Staff WriterThe cities and Wildomar and Lake Elsinore are the recipients of grants through the Office of Traffic Safety designed to aid in efforts to reduce deaths and injuries on city roads.Ā The grants, awarded to the Riverside County Sheriffā€™s Department and earmarked for each city, total $36,112 for Wildomar and $57,847 for Lake Elsinore.Ā According to Sergeant Brad Foster, the one-year grant is for the 2021 federal fiscal year, which runs from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2021.The grant will fund a variety of traffic safety programs, including: Patrols with emphasis on alcohol and drug-impaired driving prevention, awareness and education of Californiaā€™s hands-free cell phone law, education of traffic rights for bicyclists and pedestrians, and education of pr
