Woman killed in I-15 crash in Murrieta

MURRIETA - The California Highway Patrol on Sunday released more details on a crash a day earlier in Murrieta that killed an 88-year-old woman. The two-car collision was reported at 9:45 a.m. on the northbound Murrieta Hot Springs Road on-ramp. At the time, a caller told a CHP dispatcher that an elderly woman was ejected during the crash and was lying on the ground without a pulse. According to CHP Officer Mike Lassig on Sunday, the woman was standing outside a 2014 Hyundai Sonata, which was parked on the shoulder of the on-ramp, when the vehicle was struck from behind by a 2015 BMW 320i being driven by a 28-year-old Wildomar woman.
