Two killed in traffic collision reported near Aguanga

AGUANGA — Two people were killed in a traffic collision on State Route 79 in Aguanga Thursday afternoon.The crash was reported a little before 2:40 p.m. near Dugan Drive, according to information from the California Highway Patrol.Three vehicles were involved in the crash that had trapped individuals in vehicles. One patient had serious injuries and two other patients suffered minor injuries.According to CHP Officer Mike Lassig, the deadly collision occurred when the driver of a northbound 2002 Honda Pilot, for reasons that remained under investigation Thursday, drifted to the right shoulder of the roadway and collided with a rock embankment, then ricocheted across the roadway into path of a southbound Jeep Wrangler.
