Turkey shoot raises funds for fire victim

The Anza Lions Club hosted a turkey shoot fundraiser at the Minor Field shooting range to raise funds to assist Aurora Perez and her family, who lost their home due to fire Sunday, Nov. 8. Perez works at the Hamilton K-8 school and is a lifelong resident of the Anza Valley. She gives her time to the community through a local women’s ministry. Recently, she lost her home and her belongings in a house fire. The first-place winner of the main event was Frank Opice, with Greg Sandling coming in a close second. “We had about 40 shooters show up, including many women and children,” organizer Jeremy Parsons said. “Many new shooters who had never participated in a contest like this before.
