RIVERSIDE (CNS) - The killer of a 72-year-old Riverside man struck by gunfire on Interstate 15 a week ago remains at large, and the California Highway Patrol Monday, Dec. 21 sought the public's assistance to identify the shooter.
Aberlardo Magana was shot about 5 p.m. Dec. 14 in the southbound lanes of I-15, near Jurupa Street, in Ontario, according to the CHP.
``As far as anyone can tell at this point, he was just an innocent victim,'' Officer Dan Olivas told City News Service. ``It was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.''
According to Olivas, Magana was at the wheel of a Ford pick-up truck heading back into Riverside County when the driver of a black Kia SUV opened fire and at least one round entered the victim's vehicle, striking him in the upper body.
