RIVERSIDE COUNTY – The nomination deadline for the First 5 Riverside Champion for Children Award has been extended to Tuesday, Feb. 16. The next Champion for Children will be awarded up to $1,000 sponsorship to support a community event. The recipient will also be presented a plaque and certificate by the Riverside County Children and Families Commission sometime in the spring and will be recognized on the First 5 Riverside website and social media channels.The award was created to honor and bring awareness to people and organizations whose leadership and advocacy embody the vision of First 5 Riverside. Nominees must be a resident of Riverside County and have lived or worked within the county for at least two years. The person selected will have achievements that align with First 5 R
