Riverside County’s COVID-19 positivity rate falls below 10%

The COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped below 10% in Riverside County – the lowest in almost three months – and coronavirus hospitalizations continue to fall, while an additional 18 virus-related deaths were reported Friday, Feb. 26. The Riverside University Health System reported Tuesday, Feb. 23, that the state-adjusted positivity rate, which is based on test results over rolling seven-day periods, is down to 7.6%, compared to 11% last week. The last time that metric hovered below 10% was in the first week of December, according to figures. Coronavirus-positive hospitalizations stood at 361 Friday, compared to 441 on Monday, and that includes 96 intensive care unit patients, six fewer than Thursday, RUHS said.
