Man dies in Murrieta crash early Monday morning

A driver was killed early Monday morning after he struck another car, then veered into a light pole on Interstate 215 in Murrieta.The deadly crash was reported about 40 minutes after midnight on southbound I-215 just before Clinton Keith Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassig said.According to Lassig, a 43-year-old man driving a Volkswagen Jetta was in the No. 3 lane of the southbound freeway when he allowed his car to drift into the No. 2 lane and impact a Ford F-150 that was traveling beside him. The Jetta driver then lost control and careened into a pole on the right shoulder.
