Lake Elsinore City Council voices concern over new housing development

At its June 8 meeting, Lake Elsinore City Council members pulled two of 13 Consent Calendar items for further discussion. Item No. 6, was pulled and included a presentation from Community Development Director Karen Brindley regarding the construction of a new housing development. The Planning Commission has approved Planning Application No. 2016-56, known as Running Deer Estates, for the design and construction of 96 single-family, single-story residential units and a variance request for Lot 7 of Tract No. 31957.Public comments, some citing outrage on social media, centered around the fact that current residents who will be most affected by this project did not have any outreach from the developers and could not make their concerns known.
