Residents encouraged to leave fireworks to the professionals

What’s available and where Local police and fire departments are stepping up their plans to keep everyone safe and sane this Independence Day. Many cities have seen an increase in the use of illegal fireworks in recent years with 2020 being among the worst, possibly due to the cancellation of public fireworks shows at large venues due to the pandemic. In an effort to minimize the use of illegal fireworks this year, several cities have put strict programs in place that will fine violators while encouraging residents to attend professional fireworks shows that are being held throughout the region.
