Couple face felony charges for allegedly keeping processed pot near children

PERRIS - A Perris couple face misdemeanor charges in connection with a marijuana growing operation at their home and felony child endangerment charges for keeping processed pot near three young children, authorities said today. Sheriff's deputies served a search warrant Friday at a residence in the 500 block of Shawnee Road and two nearby lots, said Sgt. Kasim Bikul of the Perris Sheriff's Station. Deputies detained 28-year-old Eduardo Javier Alvarez Villegas and 31-year-old Emma Villasenor Aguilar. ``A loaded 9mm handgun and approximately 35 pounds of processed marijuana were in the master bedroom, accessible to and occupied by three children under six years old,'' Bikul said. ``Child Protective Services was notified.
