The first meeting of the Canyon Lake Bible Club took place Jan. 3, at Indian Beach and has continued to attract a wide range of participants ever since. Thor Ramsey is the club’s president and lead pastor at Center Church, which sponsors the club. After eight months of online worship services, it was decided to move ahead with a way to have live worship as both a biblical mandate and a First Amendment right.“We looked more closely at a biblical doctrine called the doctrine of the lower magistrates which mirrored exactly what the Riverside County Sheriff said when he publicly stated that his department would not be enforcing the latest lockdown mandates issued by the governor,” Ramsey said.Once that plan was put into place, the group began looking for a place to meet.
