Orange County man arrested in Elsinore child sex assault case

LAKE ELSINORE – A 31-year-old San Juan Capistrano man was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a child in Lake Elsinore, authorities said today.
Javier Loma Moreno was arrested without incident in Newport Beach at 10 a.m. Friday, according to sheriff’s inmate records. He was booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta  for suspicion of felonies of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and sexual penetration of a child under 14 and was being held on $4 million bail.
The investigation into alleged sexual assault began in July, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Reese.
The crime occurred between December 2017 and January 2018 in the 700 block of Quail Drive in Lake Elsinore, Reese said.
