It’s been two years since the volleyball courts saw fall season action and top programs like Vista Murrieta High School, which was the Southwestern League winner in 2019, and runner-up Temecula Valley High School, that same year, are still teams to watch in the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 and 2 standings. Murrieta Valley joins their Southwestern League competitors in those standings as well.

As the new school year sets in and the upcoming high school girls’ volleyball season gets underway, many local teams are gearing up to embrace the challenges ahead with playing through the unknown challenges of the current COVID-19 landscape. Of course, with the recent release of the 2021-2022 CIF Southern Section watch list, as selected by the Girls’ Volleyball Advisory Committee, the excitement in the valley is mounting.

Heritage High School looks to match their success from 2019 and are one of the top teams to watch in the CIF-Southern Section Division 5 polls, along with Rancho Christian of the South Valley League.
