Updated: Suspect remains at-large following early morning shootout in Anza

UPDATE: Friday, Oct. 22, 8 p.m. Police are still looking for a suspected car thief in Anza following an hourslong search Friday, Oct. 22. The search began at 1:37 a.m. after deputies with the Hemet Mountain Station were dispatched to Mitchell Road and Jack Shamrock Lane regarding a vehicle that had been carjacked earlier in the week. The vehicle, owned by Lorraine Elmore of Lorraine’s Pet Supply in Anza was stolen in a carjacking incident at the Circle K at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19. Elmore was approached by a man wearing a hoodie who demanded her keys at gunpoint. She complied and no one was injured in the incident.
