A field of ripening pumpkins has inspired praise on local social media groups in Anza. Located north of State Highway 371 on Kirby Road, the patch, visible for miles, has attracted a fan following. The bright orange fruits, some small and some possibly weighing over 20 pounds, have been slowly growing virtually unnoticed all summer. Now that the farmers have stopped watering the plants, the large leaves have died down enough to expose a sea of stunning color. Harvesting of the pumpkins has begun and soon the annual treat will be gone until next fall. Diane Sieker can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
